George, by George!

Singer/ Songwriter George V. Nostrand, (known as G.V. in his youth, and later dubbed George, by George!) has been crafting his unique sound for years. Drawing on influences here in his home state of Vermont as well as his travels all across the country and beyond, he stirs a range of traditional influences into his love of rock and jam music and adds a heavy dose of humor to season and spice things up.

When George decided to finally put some of his original songs down to disc, it didn’t take long for his “solo project” to gather quite a guest list. By the time it came around to releasing the CD he realized he was going to need two separate bands to adequately present his material. This however was not very conducive to the road, or his bank account, so the “Obnoxiously Large band” was downsized to a band called, George’s Back Pocket. In theory this band was a trio, but since George’s math is pretty poor you really never know how many people will be in the band, leading to the popular phrase “Who is in George’s Back Pocket this time?”
